Awards and Acknowledgements

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Awards  

The GFOA has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Statesville, North Carolina for its comprehensive annual financial report. The City of Statesville has received this prestigious award for the past nineteen consecutive years. A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. We believe that our current comprehensive annual financial report continues to meet the Certificate of Achievement Program's requirements, and we are submitting it to the GFOA to determine its eligibility for another certificate. 

The City has also been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the ninth consecutive year. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device.
