Provides systems analysis and design, computer programming, user training and support, hardware and software evaluation and installation, system security, and computer problem resolution; reads, connects and disconnects meters; oversees utility billing; provides, enhances and protects information resources; provides support for 220 City computers and 300 users.
The IT Division supports around 220 computers and 300 users.
Electric and water meters are read by the City every month. Each meter will be read monthly unless the meter is inaccessible because of an obstruction or unsafe condition. It is the customer’s responsibility to keep the meter accessible. If the meter cannot be accessed, the consumption will be estimated. Estimated consumptions may be lower or higher than past actual consumptions. Meter readings are cumulative, so that an actual reading will correct any past over or under estimations.
Each month the City reads over 25,000 meters and bills over 15,000 customers.
