A red recycling container is provided for those desiring to participate in curbside recycling. To determine which weeks you recycle, click on the link below.

2012-2013 Recycling Schedule

The following items can be placed in the red recycling bin for curbside pick-up:
Please remove lids from containers and throw away.

  • Clear glass food or beverage bottles and jars
  • Plastic liter drink bottles
  • Plastic bottles, #1-7
  • Plastic milk jugs
  • Aluminum drink cans
  • Newspapers and inserts
Iredell County also offers recycling at four locations. For more information on the Iredell County landfill and recycling click here
 
Downtown Recycling Center
Statesville has two recycling centers in the parking lots of: (1) Police Station, 131 E. Sharpe St. in downtown Statesville and (2) Statesville Fitness and Activity Center, 1875 Simonton Rd., which accept:
  • Plastic bottles & jugs
  • All colors of food and beverage glass bottles and jars
  • All cans: aluminum, tin, steel and aerosol
  • Flattened cardboard and chipboard - except for pizza boxes
  • Mixed paper, newspapers, magainzes, junk mail and phone books
  • Hard plastics:toys, laundry baskets, flowerpots, buckets, pet carriers and litter boxes

The downtown recycling center is open 24 hours a day.  These items do not need to be separated.

          Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday
          Good Friday (Friday prior to Easter Sunday)
          Memorial Day
          July 4th
          Labor Day
          Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday
          Christmas
