Official Website of the City of Statesville, North Carolina

Residents are dealing with the removal of trees after last Thursday’s storm.  Here are some guidelines to help in cleaning up the debris:

  • The City cannot remove trees and debris from private property or that is on a private structure (house or other building).
  • The City does remove debris from the right-of-way.
  • The City will pick-up limbs and debris placed on the curb.  It is preferable that the limbs be cut to four feet or less for more flexibility in removing.
  • Please do not cover up hydrants and water meters with debris or block sidewalks and travel lanes in the road.
  • If you use a private contractor to assist in the removal of fallen trees, the contractor must haul off the limbs and debris.
  • The $25 fee for large-size piles of limbs is being waived for two weeks while storm debris is being cleaned up.  Paying the fee will not result in quicker pick-up.
  • The City is not able to remove stumps or haul them off.
  • The City does not pick up construction debris, lumber, sheetrock, brick, block, plywood, roofing materials, guttering, fencing, doors, windows, carpet and padding, ashes and saw dust.  You may take these items to the Iredell County Landfill.
  • Do not mix garbage items with limbs placed on the curb.

If you have questions about tree/debris removal, please call 704-878-3415 M-F, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
