Chair's Welcome
The motto "People Helping Trees" reaches to the very core of our purpose. As an all-volunteer commission serving the City of Statesville, we are focused on the functions, health and aesthetics of trees in our city landscape. Our group works on evaluation, education and landscaping of trees within the City of Statesville. This insures that Statesville's trees improve the quality of life for its citizens and that the trees will be around for future generations to enjoy.
This is where YOU can come in! As in caring for any living thing, the ongoing needs and projects far outweigh what only a small group can accomplish. If you love trees and parks as much as we do, we can use any assistance you're willing to provide.
New trees are always needed. We sometimes have to replace trees lost to storms or age. There are also open spaces in new and existing parks which need to be filled. Our Tree Foundation is a wonderful gift for a child or as a memorial for a loved one. A purchased tree is carefully selected in your name and listed in the Statesville Book of Trees. The book may be viewed online or at the Iredell County Library or the Statesville Visitor Center.
In addition, we are always in need of volunteers. From planting and caring for infant trees to assisting with our annual Arbor Day for children, we are certain that amoung our myriad of projects you'll find a rewarding challenge to suit your tastes. Please visit our website www.statesvilletrees.org to complete our volutneer registration form. We look forward to hearing from you!
