Community Appearance Commission

 Mission Statement

Our mission is Beauty....but what does this mean?

A City is made up of many parts, all working together to improve the lives of its citizens.  The protection of Police and Fire Departments, the comfort ensured by Public Works, the diversions of Recreation and Parks...the prosperity of any City relies on the well-being of its citizens.  We now know, after years of study, that beautiful surroundings are essential to the nurture of that well-being.

When it comes to Statesville, a City with its heels in the past and its eyes on the future, a delicate balance must be maintained between the frantic pace of modern constructiion and the historic beauty of the old City.  The Statesville Community Appearance Commission is appointed by the Mayor and charged to "Initiate, promote and assist in the implementation of programs of general community beautification in the city."
