The public is invited to attend the opening ceremonies for Statesville Fire Station 4, 115 Martin Lane, on Sunday, June 26, 2011, from 2-5 p.m.
The new station will begin responding to service calls July 1, 2001, and will be home for 15 firefighters and a new 2010 Rosenbauer custom pumper fire engine. The station is 12,438 square feet and includes firefighter living quarters, fire training props, fitness facility, multi-use classroom, equipment repair and storage areas and a police-substation.
The opening ceremony and “ribbon cutting” will be held about 2:15. The public will then be able to tour the facility, speak with firefighters and enjoy light refreshments.
