CITY OF STATESVILLE COUNCIL Meeting
February 15, 2010 – 7:00 PM
This is a brief review of the Feb. 15 City Council meeting:
Public Comment: Jane Srail spoke concerning the replacement of trees in the area of NC 115 north where a proposed CVS is to be built.
CONSENT AGENDA: All Items were approved.
- Approved the second readings of an ordinance to condemn the structure at 442 Salisbury Rd. and 1001 Eighth St. as unfit for human occupancy.
- Approved the street name revision for Greylin Ridge Apartments.
- Approved the replacement of one full-time Fire Prevention Specialist with the position of one full-time Educator/Administrative Assistant in the Fire and Life Safety Division of the Fire Department.
REGULAR AGENDA
- Present the 2009 Mayor’s Cup Award to John and LeAnda Barnard in recognition of the improvements they made to the appearance of Statesville with the construction of a new office building on N. Center St.
- Held a public hearing and approved the condemnation of a structure at 915 Goldsboro Ave. as unfit for human occupancy.
- Approved the purchase of two vehicles in the Police Department not to exceed $16,000 each. The funds will come from the Drug Seizure Fund with the existing vehicles used for trade-in.
